Phone Counselling

Phone-based walk and talk therapy combines the benefits of traditional phone counseling with the therapeutic elements of walking outdoors. Clients engage in therapeutic conversations over the phone while walking in a safe and comfortable outdoor environment of their choice. This innovative approach integrates the mental health benefits of physical activity, nature exposure, and confidential counseling, allowing clients to experience stress reduction, improved mood, enhanced cognitive function, and emotional regulation. The flexibility of phone-based sessions enables clients to access therapy from anywhere, promoting accessibility and convenience without compromising the effectiveness of the therapeutic process.

How does phone counselling work?

1. Initial Session: The process begins with an initial session where the psychologist and you discuss goals, concerns, and preferences. This assessment helps tailor the therapy approach to your specific needs and ensures a personalized experience.

2. Scheduling and Preparation: You schedule phone-based sessions at convenient times and choose a suitable outdoor location for your walking session. You may also prepare by wearing comfortable clothing and having a charged phone with good reception.

3. Phone Counseling During Walk: At the scheduled time, you and the psychologist connect over the phone. While walking outdoors, the psychologist conducts counseling sessions as they would in a traditional office setting, using active listening, empathy, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

4. Integration of Nature and Movement: The outdoor environment adds a therapeutic dimension, incorporating nature exposure, physical activity, and sensory experiences into the counseling process. This integration can enhance mood, reduce stress, improve focus, and promote emotional well-being.

5. Continuity and Follow-up: Phone-based walk and talk therapy allows for continuity of care, with you having the ability to schedule regular sessions to maintain progress and address ongoing concerns. Psychologists may also provide resources, exercises, or strategies to support you between sessions.
