Using Medicare

To claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a valid referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or another eligible medical practitioner.

Eligible clients can generally access Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual mental health treatment sessions per calendar year. The number of sessions initially included in your referral may be fewer than 10.

Your referral must be in place before your session for a Medicare rebate to be claimed.

Payment

Your payment method will be collected securely as part of the booking process. The $220 session fee will be charged following your appointment.

For eligible Medicare sessions, your rebate can be submitted after payment has been processed. The time taken for the rebate to reach your account is determined by Medicare but is generally completed within 24 hous.

No referral? You can still book

You do not need a referral to speak with a psychologist at Walking Session.

Without an eligible Medicare referral, the full session fee of $220 applies. You may be able to claim a rebate through private health insurance, depending on your policy. Please check directly with your insurer before booking.
